Quote from Funnybear :Wasn't there a film out resently called the Matriac or something. They where saying about cats and deja vu. That was it. A cat crossed a doorway twice and it was the Matron changing things in the clever computing world thingy with people as batteries or something.

Someone mentioned cats and Deja Vu. Seemed to good to pass up.

That'd be the Matrix

Becky's points are 100% valid, but if you think this is bad, you should see what female Halo players go through. My girlfriend loves to play Halo 2 on Xbox live, (she likes LFS too, but that's a different story.) I've never heard more derogatory comments directed towards anyone than by these guys playing Halo. I've been on a couple servers with Becky, and while there are questions asked, they are generally pretty tame, at least what I've seen.

(And for those who have asked before, yes she is attractive, and no, I'm not sharing pictures :P)

10/20 The food ones got me. I think taste is too subjective to ask questions on, there are no "right" answers. I got all the brain ones right though.

Actually, that sounds like "hibernate" mode. Where Windows writes everything in the RAM to the HDD and shuts down the computer, then writes it back to RAM when you turn it on.

Quote from Hyperactive :Maybe some kind of LFS manager game would work. Like an LFS development simulator. You could choose to be scawen, victor or eric. Depending which character you choose you would get kissing&hugging threads on forum if you stay on schedule and patches get released "on time". If you happen to "miss a waypoint" or don't add a community requested feature you start getting letter bombs (rumble effect!) and l33t hack3R attacks against LFSworld.

If you finish the game and S3 gets released you get official progress report and infinite credits. lol

Of course the game would have to be real-time type of game, without the ability of rewinding or restarting. So that's where we get the reality TV version. You are left alone on an island and your mission is to code S3. Because you don't have a computer you need to write the source code on beach sand. But you need to be fast because the tides are coming! This would take stress tests on new level!

In the second version of the reality TV you would get skidmarks and blue flags, oh no, lol

Just a though

That's one of the few things on the internet that actually made me laugh out loud

Quote from deggis :But it was a joke.

I know your comment was a joke, and my post wasn't directed at you, but there are some people who truly think Forza is like the spawn of Satan or something. Sorry if it came off wrong.

It wasn't illepall

And there is the raw screenshots thread too

I was thinking the same thing hehe.

Quote from sinbad :That's just a figure TopGear and other motoring press are using at the moment. Not too long ago they were all saying 200bhp so I wouldn't take what they say as fact and I fully expect Clarkson to say at some point in the future: "so you thought the most power a fwd car could manage without ripping itself to pieces was 250bhp.......well.......you were wrong" :cue tyre smoking hot hatch being punished, background rock music, and nice filters on the camera.

The Nissan Maxima has 265hp if I recall. My friend's dad has one with a 6-speed and it's a blast to drive. Sure it can cook the front tires if you want, but if you're easy on the throttle on corner exits, man does it go! Driving the Maxima, I can pretty easily keep up with his AWD Audi S4 on twisty backroads.

Quote from deggis :Don't you know Forza is a swearword in this forum.

No go and make your dad love LFS.

Slightly OT, but I don't know why Forza is a swearword. As far as I'm concerned, I can have both, play both, and love both. They do two different things, if I want to sit down and have fun spending time with my dad, it's Forza, if I want to spend time by myself becoming a better racer and trying to improve, it's LFS. They're both good and I love them both.

if Forza counts as a sim, my dad is definately a Sim Dad. He's actually gotten pretty quick, too.

Quote from southamptonfc :Because you are and it doesn't make your oppinion any more important than anyone elses.

it's not really Android's oppinion, there are simply reasons why the limit exists. For one, the physics of air change significantly at that speed, and my guess is those physics aren't implemented. Secondly, I doubt the collision model would be able to detect your car on the ground, so you'd fall right through.

Scawen didn't just put that limit in there to spoil people's fun, I'm sure if LFS could cope with those speeds, you could make cars that go that fast.

I'm not saying breaking the sound barrier is stupid, what you do with LFS is up to you, but it's not what LFS is designed to do. Scawen has lots of other things to do before programming supersonic physics.

Quote from tinvek :got no problems on bends etc just getting the dam thing rolling in first place. sure theres something wrong in my controls as i should be able to get the thing rolling on a very light throttle, for a race engine it seems to have an enormous amount of torque at low revs

Same thing happens to me, I don't think it's a problem with your controls, even with very small throttle openings, the rear tires spin, the only way to get it rolling is to correct the steering and modulate the throttle, at least in my experience.

Why wait to buy? It's true that S2 isn't finished, but the alpha is so good, why wait. You can pay now and play the alpha, and have already paid for the "real" S2, or you can play with 3 cars and 1 track and wait, and pay the same amount when the "real" version of S2 comes out. You don't gain anything by waiting.

I've been around a while, but I didn't have a credit card, so I raced the demo a long time. I can proudly say that my first ever credit card payment was for LFS S1
